Programme profile


This programme focuses on tourism and management. In the management component of the programme you will look at all aspects of management, including finance, marketing, strategy and research. In the tourism component, you will look at trends in tourism, tourism policy, tourism management, working in international cultures, and research for tourism.

In years three and four, you choose a specialisation to match your personal interests and ambitions,  including:

- Destination Management
- Global Perspectives on Tourism and Cultural Identity (Cultural Tourism
).

During the programme, you will be involved in projects commissioned from the tourism sector, including:

- Planning, organising and delivering a study trip for first year students on the tourism course.
- Developing tourism at destinations such as Senegal, Ghana, Indonesia.
- Creating new tourism concepts for destinations (e.g. Amsterdam, Norway, Berlin or the Pacific
Region)

The university doesn't currently offer a related Masters programme, taught through English

Entry Requirements


2 A/S Level + 4 GCSs. Subjects to include Maths. 
OR: relevant BTEC Extended Level 3 Diploma

Scotland: 4 subjects standard/intermediate grade + 2 subjects higher grade (6 different subjects in total) or higher

Leaving Certificate showing at least 6 subjects of which at least 2 are Higher 4 OR relevant QQI Level 5 qualification
